Friends and enemies!! I hope you didn’t think you had gotten rid of us that easily just because it’s been a while since our last blog post!! We’re unstoppable, unkillable, like cockroaches that have taken a bath in toxic waste or a magic assassin minded snail. Always moving, slowly inching forward, to your location no matter how it changes. Fresh content in tow.

Of course, if you already have been following [The] World is Mine on Webtoon–which you absolutely should be–then you already knew this and that preamble was wholly unnecessary. You may even be thinking ‘just show me this new turnaround already’. I don’t particularly like being told what to do; but I do particularly like you, dear reader, so I will make an exception this time.

This is Maple Hawthorn, an Elf from the luscious Viridian Valley; where Muffin and Blue Bismuth are currently heading! It’ll still be a couple of chapters until you all get to formally meet him (my deepest apologies) but we promise that he’s worth the wait.

Maple is a bard and a hero who loves spreading good vibes and music. He’s been through a lot in his life, which you’ll learn about as we get to know him in the comic, but he remains lighthearted and positive–if a bit excessively flirty. He’s not naïve, though, and is very good at reading people; sometimes knowing even more than the person in question knows about themselves.

Perhaps exemplifying his ability to judge character, his best friend is a Tiefling named Rufus, who Maple trusts deeply despite the recent war between the Tieflings and Elves. Maple is well known and well liked, even for an already tight-knit community like Viridian Valley, and the beings he trusts are generally trusted by all.
